I found myself rolling over in bed this morning. Contemplating whether I should get up at 6am, or just close my eyes and slumber for another hour. My eyes became heavy again as I started to drift back into sleepy land. Suddenly a thought occured in my head.
“If I lose my motivation now, nothing will get done. If I just do it, I’ll be glad I did.”
So with great hesitation, I rolled over and lifted myself up. Got up and shuffled down two cups of my wakey drink. Easy enough right? Until, you realize you gotta get four kids up, and ready for school. Four different schools. Imagine Christmas time when we have four events to coordinate. Not just one, not just two, but four.
I’ll admit my little man #1 was my pure motivation this morning, but who needs to hear that story. ☺️ I’ll just get to the point.
There are times in life when we all feel as though rolling back over and ignoring the day would be great. Sometimes, we hit those crucial moments when everything is falling apart, and we just want to throw it all away. Other times, we are discouraged, or disappointed and it affects our moods and how we endure our day. However, if we give in to our slacker side we also give into defeat. No one ever said life was easy, and it sure doesn’t come with an instruction manual. When your feeling down, in the dumps, and don’t want to do it…. Just … Muster up all that inner strength and tell yourself “I got this!” Because otherwise you’ll wake up later and feel regretful of the now lack of time you really have.
If this post motivates at least one person today, or puts a smile on any of you faces, then I’ve done my job 😇 the bottom line is, don’t let life, your disappointments, your defeat, your mistakes, or your slacker inside you, define you. You are defined by how well you rise after falling. “Do what you gotta do, and the rest will follow.”
