Pieces of You

They say that when your loved ones pass over they will always be with you. I suppose in a lot of ways, this is true. This past weekend, I wanted to post but had my mind wrapped up in so many jumbled thoughts, I had no idea how I was going to go about it.

It was the day before my 31st t birthday, it was a rough start, but I had to get some shopping done. As I strolled through the store, I noticed a few small reminders. Everywhere I went, someone carried a piece of the puzzle with them… A man wearing the same glasses dad wore, a male wearing the same clothing style, or hat, or even demeanor. I saw my dad a lot.

Everywhere I walk I see

An essence you carry

In front of me

My stomach wrenches

A pause so cold

A moment in time

A frozen gnome

Before I realize

It’s not real

A memory flashes

Full of you.
