“Original Vs. New” A Perspective View

This morning, as the family sat eagerly to watch the original video of the cartoon Teen Titans. I couldn’t help but let my thoughts drifts.. Have you ever noticed with every movie, every show, every cartoon, every sitcom, etc. the original is always the best version of every spin. The question is: is it because we’ve grown accustomed to the original version, or does the newer versions of these shows lose a specific essence. Take the new Teen Titans Go! They don’t fight crime, they don’t save the day, those days are now Nolan void. Now they just mess around with each other, and stay inside their tower. I’d call it the Teen Titans sitcom, not super heroes.

My thoughts went deeper as I started pondering perspective. What about people? Why are we told be ourselves?

Being ourselves, our true selves is unique. Each and every one of us is an original copy. No one can mimic who we are.

The message: Why spend your life trying to copy others,  or be someone your not, when you are the best version you can strive to be.  The only effort I believe we all should be accountable for is

“Everyday we should strive to better then the person we were yesterday.”

My fourth reason for being grateful in December:

“Wisdom is knowing when you stay quiet and when to speak up.”

I had an encounter yesterday that involved an insult. I could have tore them a new … bleep 😋. Instead, I chose to let it die in a rubble of dust. You never realize until you do so, that  you’ve become the bigger person when you blow off an insult like it meant nothing. A life lesson, I’ll always carry.

Happy December 13th!    Love Rareity💐

I never heard of Teen Titans. lol Probably because all my little ones are grown up. 😦
I always hated when somebody would say “Just be yourself.” Particularly during the teen years. I was shy and rounded my shoulders to hide my chest. 😦 I didn’t want to be myself. I wanted to be the cute happy go lucky cheerleader type. lol
We change every day. There really is no constant self. And as you wrote ……… just try to be a bit better tomorrow and learn when to keep your mouth shut. 🙂

Cute cheerleader type. 🙃 I think I always just wanted to fit in. But it was hard. I had a tendency to walk to the beat of my own drum. Your right. During the teen years I think we’re all so awkward that we can’t see past the self conscious view of ourselves.
